Projects

Here Are Some of My Projects.

This is list of projects that I have worked on or am still working on. As a multi-media designer these projects include various mediums including websites, photography series, web apps, writings, video game mods, interfaces, music, video art, and a mix of all of those plus some! Many of my projects are focused on designing functional digital products, writing creative works, and expressing art in as many ways as I possibly can. My current endeavors that I plan to continue on with include bettering my illustration skills, learning 3D-modeling, and sharpening my knowledge of coding languages such as C# and JavaScript.

Asveora Social: Open Source Digital Network

This project was started in response to the changing climate of the internet and the many cracks that have emerged as we have finally hit late stage web 2. Centralization is beginning to fall apart due to issues with scaling and walled gardens are becoming ever more problematic. Not to mention that robust systems of governance, accountability, and user authenticity are either completely absent or close to completely absent. Many people have become dependent on large enterprises and companies to do everything for them in exchange for the sale of personal information and a lack of true control over their own online presence.

Asveora went from being a group of friends to being a community project of its own to now being a full-fledged fight to create a more open, transparent, and flexible internet. The project advocates for open source software, freedom of choice, and a strong culture of democratic federation built on principles that serve the user first and the system second. The goal of the Asveora project is to utilize the best ideas floating in the muddy late of web 3 and combine them with the ideas of early web 2, which I like to call "open web 2", since early web 2 was denoted by user controlled systems such as web rings and independent chat rooms. Community Oversight: Social Good Campaign

This is a small scale presentation site created to inform individuals about why community oversight is necessary in the helping to reform the way that law enforcement operates. The project serves as an introduction to the issue and suggests some of the expected outcomes if adoption of the community oversight system continues. There has been continual growth in the number of community oversight systems and law enforcement auditor groups since the 1990s. Presently about 200 community oversight groups exist across the United States and the number keeps climbing! View the project here: amzrosevca.com/p/community-oversight.html

Death of the Store: Building a Research Archive

This project was an archive book created to discuss the state of brick-and-mortar stores in the modern landscape and their survival. The information in this archive may be considered outdated since trends have shifted about in a somewhat odd manner due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and the way in which society bounced back afterwards. Many of the pictures in this archive were photographed by me! There are currently no prints of this book being produced but you can read it online for free here: jpm2k2design.com/p/death-of-store.html

Horizon Wave: Windows 10 Theme System

Horizon Wave is a theme engine for the Windows 10 operating system with the purpose of bringing game console styled interfaces to computers. The project started out in 2018 and was called "Aurora Carpet" originally before being changed to the name of "Horizon Wave" in 2021 after some significant changes were made to the "Aurora Carpet" project to where the project needed a new name due to how different things were after the shift in focus. Horizon Wave's default theme largely takes influence from the PlayStation 4, Windows Longhorn, and the Nintendo Switch. The theme engine also has a custom viewport mode that was built on top of OBS and can be launched straight from the desktop. The viewport mode's design is largely based on Nintendo's seventh and eighth generation game consoles. To see Horizon Wave in action, check out the links below!

Rain Wave Engine: GDevelop Framework

This project was a fan game dedicated to the classic Sonic the Hedgehog games and was going to be focused on level creation and time attacks. The project originally started out as Sonic Gears and featured a myriad of working levels before the project was restarted from the ground up as the "Rain Wave Engine" which Sonic Regnant was then eventually built upon. The Rain Wave Engine was created with GDevelop and the first ever engine based on Sonic the Hedgehog's high speed platforming gameplay.

Due to software constraints at the time, slopes could not be properly implemented, but years later another individual was able to as the software's environment became more complex. Sonic Gears, the older version of Regnant was featured in SAGE 2019's trailer where it was donning the new "Sonic Regnant Logo" at the time. The game was unfortunately pulled from the expo due to complications. Sonic Gears is included in the Sonic Protamedra (aka Sonic XS) project as well. In the following SAGE 2019 trailer video at the [04:27] mark its appearance can be seen: https://youtu.be/SDtpFtnQjX4

Xaosphora Works: Rewriting Fictional Worlds

Xaosphora Works is a long time project that focuses on re-imagining already existing fictional works and worlds in an effort to create more cohesive narratives or alternate storylines. The project encompasses franchises such as The Legend of Zelda, Star Wars, Bomberman, and more! The project was born out of my love for story telling and world building. Xaosphora Works is home to a group of sub projects which can all be found through the link below. The first of these projects was Sonic Protamedra, a re-telling and re-organization of the classic era of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise that ties in lore elements from the games, comics, and more into a brand new landscape!
